"A Doctor's Confession About Scoliosis..." "Why despite all I still do what I do..." Scoliosis is a spinal disorder that affects between 2-3 percent of our population. The key to successfully treating this disorder is to diagnose it early. Even though the standard for scoliosis care throughout the medical community is to first watch and wait. If the scoliosis worsens, the next step is to use bracing. Let's say the bracing doesn't help, the final step would be surgery. If you research scoliosis on most sites, these are the answers you will get along with a statement that once the scoliosis has stopped progressing that you can live a normal life. Or so you think... Another thing you will be repeatedly told is that chiropractic / manipulation has not proven to help scoliosis. In part, this statement is true. Most chiropractic / manipulation will not reduce the scoliosis. But there are a handful of doctors across the country, using a unique Scoliosis Reduction and Rehabilitation Process and are getting amazing results reducing scoliosis. This process involves four very specific phases. Without all four, the process won't work. The procedures are based on the research and teachings of Pettibon Spinal Bio-mechanics and several other doctors who use these procedures. Let me explain... Phase one (mix) - The warm-up phase involves warming the spine by traction and exercise. Two of the specific pieces of equipment used to perform this phase are the wobble chair and over-the-door traction unit (both invented by Dr. Pettibon) as well as the newest traction equipment available. Phase two (fix) - The very specific chiropractic spinal adjustments, which are based on the analysis of your x-rays. Phase three (set) - The re-education phase where your body is taught to hold the adjustment and re-align itself using patented body weighting procedures (based on Dr. Pettibon's research and teachings) and some other proprioceptive equipment. Phase four (hold) - You will be given specific exercises to perform at home.
These are the exact procedures Dr. Jane uses. Also, Research has been and is being published currently to support these procedures. One article published by Dr. Mark Morningstar, DC. (a colleague of Dr. Jane's) can be found on his web site "under practice articles". But there is more... "The Key is to Success is Early Detection / Diagnosis and Seeking the Appropriate Treatment Immediately!" Here is how...Observe Your Kids Regularly... When looking at your child, is one shoulder higher, one hip more forward, or the head tilted? When looking at your child from the back, does one of the shoulder blades stick out? Do the stripes on their shirt go at an angle? Do shirt buttons match-up incorrectly? Does your child have trouble touching their chin to their chest?
If you answered yes to one or more of these questions please call 303-452-7300 to make an appointment to have your child evaluated by Dr. Jane. Waiting may be the worst thing you could do. As for my confession, I don't really reduce scoliosis. YOU DO! By following the procedures and the process. I take my knowledge and training and teach you and your body how to correct itself. And, even though some doctors and people will continue to be skeptical, I continue to move forward along with my colleagues, knowing that each child that doesn't have to wear a brace or have surgery and every adult who no longer has to suffer with the disorder makes all the difference in my life. Someday, these procedures will be the standard for treating scoliosis. After all, how many people would have even believed 15 years ago that the Internet and cell phones would be part of our daily life? Now Are Your Ready to Take My Challenge Yet? I thought so, Dial 303-452-7300 right now before you have to wait! Rhino Spine Center - 2200 E. 104th Ave. Suite 114, Thornton, CO Dr. Jane Leavell, DC (303) 452-7300
